Wicknell Chivayo is a name that many Zimbabweans know. He shows off big cars, a lot of money, and his friendship with top leaders. He is very close to President Emmerson Mnangagwa. But now, things are not going well for him. He is in big trouble over a US$100 million scandal. The money was for the 2023 elections in Zimbabwe. But now people believe some of it went to the wrong people.

The problem started with a tender to buy materials for the election. The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) gave the job to a South African company called Ren-Form CC. The total deal was R1.2 billion, which is about US$66 million. From that money, Chivayo received R800 million. That is over US$40 million. But the question is, why?

Chivayo was not supposed to be part of the deal. He did not win the tender. He was not even on the list. But his companies and other groups linked to him somehow got paid. Now, both Zimbabwe and South Africa are investigating this. There is talk of money laundering. Some bank transfers look suspicious. It is clear something is wrong.

The story first came out from NewsHawks. Then other media joined in. Now the South African Financial Intelligence Centre is doing its own checks. So this is not a small rumour. It is a big case. Authorities are following the money to find the truth.

Chivayo tried to explain himself. He wrote a long post on social media. He said he is clean. He said people are jealous of him. He called himself a hard-working businessman. He even insulted people, saying if they do not understand contracts, they must go to night school.

But many people were not convinced. His post looked like someone trying too hard to clear their name. It made him look more guilty. It made him look scared. He also said he never worked with ZEC. But if that is true, why did his companies get paid so much?

He said there is no crime, no missing money, and no person who is complaining. But the investigations are still happening. And many eyes are now on him. Zimbabweans are angry. They are tired of corruption. They are tired of rich people getting government money while poor people suffer.

Our hospitals have no medicine. Our schools have no books. Our roads are full of potholes. Yet someone is getting US$40 million from election money? That is why people are angry. That is why people are watching.

Chivayo blames everyone. He blames the media. He blames people living outside the country. He blames the opposition. But he does not answer the one big question: why did you get paid for a tender you were not part of?

He says he wants to be Zimbabwe’s youngest billionaire. He says no one will stop him. But now, maybe the law will. This time, things are serious. This time, he may not run away. Because the truth is starting to come out. And no matter how rich or connected you are, justice does not forget.

This is not just about one man. It is about how ZANU PF works. It is about using elections to steal. It is about a system where friends of the powerful get rich while the country suffers.

Makatangirwa neDare, Wicknell. And this time, it might not end well.

  1. The question is simple: how do you get paid for a job you were never hired for? And if the government protects this, then the whole system is part of the theft. Zimbabweans are waking up. We’re not fooled by designer suits and Lamborghinis. If Chivayo is clean, let him face the investigation without throwing insults.

  2. This is the same opposition noise recycled again and again. You failed at elections, now you want to drag others down with fake scandals and hate.

  3. Every time Chivayo makes money, the same people start crying foul. Jealousy won’t stop him. He’s winning because he works harder than all these bloggers.

  4. These investigations are politically driven. They only attack successful people close to the President. Chivayo is being used to damage ZANU PF’s name before 2028.
